Fender Return Policy Explained

Fender’s online store return window is generally 30 days from the date of receipt for eligible purchases. For items ordered directly through Fender’s ecommerce checkout, a return or exchange request should be initiated within that timeframe so the request can be reviewed and confirmed. Purchases made through independent Fender Authorized Dealers are typically handled under the dealer’s own return policy rather than Fender’s direct-to-consumer process, so the original point of purchase matters when deciding where to request a return.

To start a return for an order placed on Fender’s direct-to-consumer sites, use the Consumer Return Request page and provide the order number and the email address used at checkout. If the order number is not available, or if the system cannot validate the order due to a mismatch (for example, a typo in the email address), the request can still be submitted with corrected contact details and additional notes so it can be reviewed by a Gear Advisor. When returning multiple items, include each model number; if the order contains more items than the form allows, list the additional items in the notes section so the full request can be evaluated together.

Refund timing and amounts can vary based on validation and processing steps. If a return form displays a $0 total refund amount during submission, it may indicate the order could not be automatically validated; the request can still be completed and submitted for manual review. After submission, allow time for the return request to be reviewed and for confirmation to be sent. If an item arrived damaged or defective, the request should clearly indicate the issue category and include a detailed description and supporting photos to help determine whether a replacement or refund is appropriate.

Some products may have special restrictions. Personalized or custom-built items (such as certain Mod Shop builds) may be excluded from returns due to their made-to-order nature, even though warranty coverage may still apply. For these cases, support should be contacted for resolution options focused on warranty service or repair rather than a standard return. For any return request, keeping the invoice, order emails, and product identifiers (such as model number and, when available, serial number) helps speed up review and reduces back-and-forth.

For help with return eligibility, order documentation, or troubleshooting the return request process, Fender Customer Support can be contacted through the support portal. When contacting support, it is best to have the order number, the email used at checkout, the product model number(s), and a short summary of the issue ready. This information supports faster verification, clearer refund or exchange outcomes, and more accurate guidance on next steps within the applicable 30-day window.
