Tesla sells physical goods through the Tesla Shop (including vehicle accessories, charging equipment, and merchandise) and supports returns and cancelations primarily through a Tesla Account order history workflow. For most unopened and unused vehicle accessories and merchandise, the general return window is 30 days from receiving the product. Opened but unused products may also be eligible within the same 30-day window, but a restocking fee may apply. Used products are generally not eligible for return, so condition at the time of the request matters.
Some product categories can have different timeframes. For example, certain charging products such as Wall Connectors and Mobile Connectors may have a longer return window than standard merchandise. Because eligibility can vary by item type and condition, the most reliable approach is to check the specific order’s “Order Details” page in the Tesla Shop account area to see whether “Cancel” or “Start a Return” is available for each line item.
For cancelations, Tesla indicates it may be possible to cancel an order if it has not been processed yet. The practical cutoff is whether the distribution center has begun processing or the order has shipped. If cancelation is still available, the option appears in the order’s details; if the order has progressed beyond cancelation but remains return-eligible, the interface typically shifts to a return option instead. Shipping address and order contents generally cannot be edited after checkout, so accuracy at checkout is important.
Returns are intended to be initiated online. The return request is submitted from the order details page (or, for guest/Apple Pay purchases, by accessing the order using the order number and email). After the return request is reviewed and approved, a prepaid return shipping label is typically provided by email for shipment back to Tesla’s warehouse. Items sent to Tesla locations without prior approval may be declined, and Tesla Service Centers generally do not process returns or refunds for items purchased online.
Refund timing is typically measured from the point Tesla receives and inspects the returned product. Refunds are commonly processed within 7–10 business days after the return arrives at the warehouse and completes inspection, and are credited back to the original form of payment. For cancelations, refunds are also typically processed within 7–10 business days after the order is canceled. If a gift card was used, the refund outcome can depend on how the purchase was funded (gift card only versus split payment), so checking the Tesla Account balance and the original payment method statements is a practical way to confirm completion.
