This company was founded in 1990 with the express purpose of creating practical robots for various uses. During its early days, iRobot focused on robots for exploration and industrial use. The first robot was Genghis, which was designed for space exploration. Then came a mine detection robot and a tactical mobile robot. Each of these automatons was innovative and creative but not really commercially successful. The company finally entered the mainstream in 2002 with the release of the Roomba robotic vacuum. The premise was simple - the robot would maneuver around the house and sweep dirt and other particles. Since then, the Roomba has become the most well-known robotic vacuum in the world. iRobot has also developed various versions with new technology, such as mobile syncing, floor mopping, and more. In addition to different Roombas, the company still focuses on building robots for various purposes. For example, in 2010, iRobot helped monitor the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.

iRobot offers a 30-day return policy, allowing customers to return products for a full refund if they are not satisfied. This policy is applicable to most products purchased directly from iRobot's official website. To initiate a return, customers need to contact iRobot's customer service to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. Once the RMA is issued, the product must be returned in its original packaging, including all accessories and documentation, to qualify for a refund.
One common complaint about iRobot's return policy is the requirement for the product to be in its original packaging. Customers who have discarded the packaging may face difficulties in returning the product. Additionally, the process of obtaining an RMA can sometimes be cumbersome, with reports of delays in customer service response times. It's important for customers to keep all original packaging and documentation until they are certain they are satisfied with their purchase.
Another pain point is the cost of return shipping, which is typically the responsibility of the customer unless the product is defective or the return is due to an error on iRobot's part. This can be a deterrent for customers who are unsure about their purchase. To avoid these issues, customers are advised to thoroughly research the product and read reviews before making a purchase.
For those who have purchased iRobot products from third-party retailers, the return policy may differ, and customers should refer to the retailer's specific return policy. In such cases, iRobot's customer service may not be able to assist directly with returns, and customers will need to work with the retailer for any return or refund requests.

I never dreamed this would need so much maintenance, parts replacements, and technical skills. It doesn’t even clean very well because it can’t reach many areas. I also don’t like all the crazy circles and lines it leaves on my carpet.
