Walmart Return Policy Explained

Walmart offers a generous return policy, allowing customers to return most items within 90 days of purchase. This policy applies to both in-store and online purchases, making it convenient for customers to return items that do not meet their expectations. For online purchases, customers can initiate a return through their Walmart account and choose to return the item by mail or in-store. In-store returns are straightforward; customers simply need to bring the item and the receipt to the customer service desk.

However, there are exceptions to this policy. Certain items, such as electronics, must be returned within 30 days, and some products like perishable goods, software, and intimate apparel may have different return conditions or may not be returnable at all. It's important for customers to check the specific return policy for each item at the time of purchase to avoid any surprises.

One common complaint among customers is the restocking fee that may apply to certain items, particularly electronics. Additionally, some customers have reported issues with receiving refunds in a timely manner, especially for online returns. To ensure a smooth return process, it's advisable for customers to keep their receipts and original packaging, as these are often required for returns.

For items purchased with a gift card, the refund will be issued back to the gift card, which can be inconvenient for some customers. In cases where a customer has lost their receipt, Walmart may offer a store credit for the item's current selling price, but this is not guaranteed. Overall, while Walmart's return policy is generally customer-friendly, understanding the specific terms and conditions for each item can help avoid potential frustrations.

I just bought a variety pack of cookies that is dated 10/24/2023. The cookies are rock hard and stale. Must not have been sealed properly. I have purchased these in the past and they were soft and very flavorful. Can I return these cookies with my receipt or is this a lesson learned not to purchase these again?

I was told to call Walmart customer care at 1800 - 925 -6278. When I called a man from Pakistan was on the other end.

Your process is truly just a fraud. I returned the product. Did not get a replacement or my refund and it seems your system is designed to not allow me to speak to someone and to add insult to injury. I have to charge my credit card to get help. I will never shop online with Walmart again

Tried to exchange clothing that I received as a Christmas present. After waiting about 30 minutes I was informed without a receipt or the card that was utilized to purchase the items I could not exchange them. Seriously, the giver is supposed to attach the receipt to the present. This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of.

I would like to know who uses a government ID to purchase anything?? How on earth is this a thing? If I purchase something with cash and just need to exchange a size without a receipt, that should be easy to do... what am I reading Walmart?

I’ve been waiting 4 days for a refund that is pending my acct and still haven’t reviewed it. When I called someone about it they where rude and wouldn’t even give me a chance to talk , I bet if I file a lawsuit against them for the accident that took place in their store I would get better treatment , but unlike their staff I’m not that type of person (ugly) even with the problems that the accident caused I remained nice and didn’t put a suit on them .
