I’ve been using chewy for a few years now and this is the first time I’ve needed to return something. Their policy is excellent as well as their products. I’m only returning my item because I confused one thing for another and ended up buying the wrong one.

I had a refund coming from Chewy. via check by mail, and they told me it would take no more than 2 weeks. After 2 weeks, I called and the told me there was a misunderstanding, and that it actually takes 3-5 weeks, WHICH IS ABSURD! After 4 weeks I filed a complaint with BBB which Chewys totally ignored, and kept telling me 3-5 weeks. I then had to write to Chewys executive and finally got someone to cancel the first check and overnight another check, after I told her what they were doing was wrong and deceptive. It is 5 weeks now and the check never arrived, and I dont believe they ever sent it because I asked them for proof it was sent and they made up ridiculous excuses why they could not. I called USPS, the carrier they used originally and they told me it should not take more than a couple of weeks to get from Florida to New Hampshirre. So, they are saying it takes them 3 weeks to process the refund? NOT REASONABLE...NO COMPANY I HAVE DEALT WITH HAS TAKEN 3-5 WEEKS!!! I wish I knew where to file a thir party complaint who can actually investigate Chewy's 3-5 weeks refund policy, as customers should not be subjected to this deceptive, unfair and dishonest treatment of their own money.

Shipping issues has started on my last 2 orders. I received 1 case of grilled chicken cat food with my 2 cases of salmon pate. I ordered 3 cases of salmon pate. On my most recent order I received 3 cases if salmon shreds instead of 3 cases of salmon pate.

When my best friend, Buddy, died after ten wonderful years together, I realized that I still had auto-shipped orders turned on from Chewy when fifty pounds of dog food and a small bag of treats showed up on my doorstep. I was so distracted by the empty, curled-up-Buddy-shaped worn-out spot on my couch to remember to cancel the shipment. So I opted for the live-messaging option on my phone and I was blown away by the kindness and empathy that my customer service agent showed me. She issued me a full refund for the treats and the big bag of dog food, and then told me I could just donate both bags to my local animal shelter. It felt good to help local dogs, while still getting my money back from the food that I wasn’t able to give my Buddy. Not five days later, I received flowers and a postcard in the mail, with a handwritten sympathy note from that same customer service agent I had live-messaged less than a week ago. I couldn’t believe how much time, effort, and love Chewy gifted me to show their condolences for the loss of Buddy.
